Save the cataloguers
In correspondence last night concerning one of the authorities in which the council proposes to close more than half its public libraries, and in which I had called for the office costs to be cut rather than the libraries themselves, I saw this...
"But the cataloguers may fall further behind with their cataloguing... Mr Coates does not understand how libraries work'

Actually, I was a cataloguer. Ther are hardly any of us left anyway, I would say!
