Encouraging people to use libraries
This is on the librarians chat page this morning
'We no longer ask for any proof of address in Sunderland for anyone joining the library and we do not seem to have had any noticeable increase in the number of overdues we send out.'

'Aberdeen Evening Express' reports Council officers are proposing "significant reduction" in opening hours, and staff cuts affecting Aberdeen's 17 public libraries.
Derbyshire Council are also proposing a reduction in library opening hours to save £100,000 p.a. from 2011-12, as reported on 'This is Derbyshire'.
