'Westerns'

I noticed a good and smart new library which listed in an advertisement the sections of fiction it has on offer

"Crime, romance, science fiction etc .... and westerns"

Westerns? What? 1950's stock?

Here in Brighton and Hove, there was uproar because Crime fiction was put among general fiction (with a "Cri" stick on the spine), as was Science Fiction.

There are some people, however, who read mainly that and find it easiest to go to a section.

I should think that the same applies to anybody who is easrching for something similar after taking back Shoot-Out at Double-Cross Ranch.

Yes, Westerns. Like the film genre.

You get a lot of them in large print and they tend to be the male version of Mills & Boon, replacing lusty women and rich men with grizzled cowboys and magnums.
