Is there any SYRUP in the bottle?

We all know how difficult it is to get the last dregs of SYRUP out of the empty bottle. Well here is a working party to have a look.

What about the public, councillors etc? - Might they get a say in all this? Or is it once again, none of their business?

I'd be happy for all interested parties to have a say. We need to make library training more responsive to user and employer needs- remembering that CILIP is not exclusively a body of and for public librarians.

That said I would not give 'the public' and/or councillors *the* say, as that often leads to short-termism.

Now I know you're a 'single issue person' Tim, but could I take this rallying call to, say, the NMC or the GMC? After all the NHS is publicly funded. Or to the Sector Skills Councils that provide training for shops and the like- also publicly funded. There's a case for 'public involvement' in pretty much all areas of training.
