Lost comments

Many apologies, I have just deleted a number of comments by mistake. Please post them again- I think they were

Tom asking me to name the councils which I know pay CILIP subs
Pete offering Katie his email address (!)
Miriam asking if my theory about Internet cafe's would apply to DVD rental shops
Pete saying he understood my theory-- and then I lost them all.

No romance here Tim ;) I was showing Katie you can link through to people's blogs from here.

Tom

I have enough trouble getting work from councils because, while councillors are often quite interested to hear what I say, their officers would prefer to see me roasting on a spit. Forgive me for not revealing the names of the (more than) two councils of which I am aware of this practice.

Sorry Tim, it's been a busy morning and I can't remember everything I said.

I think I asked if you were serious about the idea that libraries are responsible for the decline in DVD rental shops. If so do you have any proof?

I am still dubious about libraries killing off decent internet cafes. I can't see why they would have any more influence here than they do on independent book shops.

Cheers Pete : ) I realised 3 minutes after posting the question that I can link to your blog - its very good and have marked it under 'blogs that I like!' on my Favourites.

Thanks Tim, I understand that you can't name names. So, out of 208 UK public library authorities, we know of more than two that reimburse staff for their personal CILIP subscriptions.
