Dear Mr Bell : I'm a member of CILIP; I was very sorry to learn the death of Andrew Miller, whom I knew as Director of Glasgow libraries when I visited the Mitchell in 1992 with a party of French librarians.

I was very impressed by his immense competence and his vision of libraries.

Indeed a great librarian.

Best regards : JF BONNIN, head librarian, Bibliotheque municipale de Macon, France.
