Royal Commissions

I am a student (and publisher) of Victorian Royal Commissions, so I was delighted to receive this from Susan Hill in answer to my comments about Ministers and Ministries

But it`s the same with all ministers for everything... same with the ones who ask doctors and nurses for advice about what to do with hospitals and the NHS in general and shake hands and say it has all been most useful and then do nothing, other than stab the doctors and nurses in the back and refuse to answer their calls. And look at all the Royal Commissions on just about everything that have been and gone and cost a fortune and are dumped on a shelf to gather dust which WAS WHAT THE MINISTERS WHO SET THEM UP IN THE FIRST PLACE ALWAYS INTENDED SHOULD HAPPEN. ' I know how to shut the buggers up for a year or three - let`s give them a Royal Commission..Now who`s for nothing better to do ?'
I daresay there`ll one along about libraries in a minute.
